The HaoHan FireFly is a newly introduced drone that adopts an airplane-inspired design while retaining the vertical takeoff and landing (VTOL) capabilities of a quadcopter. Equipped with a GPS module, the drone offers extended range and efficiency, targeting professional users.
Unlike traditional quadcopters, which rely on four fixed rotors for maneuverability, the FireFly features tilt rotors that transition from vertical to forward-facing propulsion after takeoff.
The manufacturer claims this design reduces power consumption during flight. With an optional larger battery, the drone can travel up to 56 miles on a full charge, provided it remains under its top speed of approximately 35 miles per hour.
Weighing between 3.3 and 4 pounds depending on the configuration, the FireFly is built for professional applications. The included remote offers a maximum range of 9.3 miles under optimal conditions.
However, the drone lacks an integrated camera system like DJI models, instead featuring a mount for action cameras and optional front-facing camera modules, which are not yet available.
The FireFly measures 42.5 x 27.2 x 14.8 inches but can be disassembled to fit into a compact 23 x 18 x 10-inch carrying case, enhancing portability.
