Chinese electronics firm Xiaomi has officially launched its latest mobility offering, the Electric Scooter 5 Plus, in the Philippines. The new model, which includes several design upgrades over its predecessors, is expected to reach European markets in the coming months.
Currently positioned between the Pro and Max variants in Xiaomi’s e-scooter lineup, the Electric Scooter 5 Plus features 12-inch tubeless tires, a larger riding deck, and a taller handlebar. These enhancements are aimed at improving rider comfort and stability compared to the 10-inch tires found on other models in the series.
The e-scooter is powered by a 900W peak motor and can reach speeds up to 25 kilometers per hour (16 mph), with a maximum range of 60 kilometers (37 miles) on a single charge. Xiaomi says the model is capable of handling inclines up to 20% and offers three selectable riding modes. A dual-spring front shock absorber, traction control system, and dual braking setup further support performance and safety.
Constructed with a carbon steel frame, the foldable scooter includes front and rear lighting, and can be monitored and controlled via the Xiaomi Home app.
Support pages for the Electric Scooter 5 Plus have recently gone live in the United Kingdom and France, indicating that a European release may be imminent. The model was previously spotted in regulatory listings from the UAE’s TDRA and Germany’s Federal Motor Transport Authority (KBA).
In the Philippines, the Electric Scooter 5 Plus is retailing for PHP 30,999 (approximately £402 or €466). Based on this pricing, the model is expected to launch in Europe at between £449.99/€549.99 and £499.99/€599.99.
A product listing has also been added to Xiaomi’s global website, accompanied by the slogan “Go Bigger, Ride Smoother”.
