Xiaomi’s Poco brand has unveiled the Poco M7 Plus 5G, the latest addition to its M7 series, featuring a bigger display, a 7,000mAh battery and an IP64 durability rating, but without the traditional 3.5mm audio jack found on previous models.

The omission marks a notable change from the Poco M6 Plus, which included the port. While many smartphone makers have moved toward wireless and USB-C audio solutions, the absence may affect users who prefer wired headphones.

The Poco M7 Plus will be available in India from Aug. 19 via Flipkart, priced at ₹13,999 ($160/€137) for the base variant with 6GB RAM and ₹14,999 ($172/€146) for the 8GB version. It comes in Aqua Blue, Carbon Black and Chrome Silver, the latter featuring red and blue edge accents.

It has a 6.9-inch FHD+ display with a 144Hz refresh rate and Gorilla Glass 3 protection. Powered by the Snapdragon 6s Gen 3 processor, it offers 128GB of expandable storage and ships with Android 15, with two years of Android updates and four years of security patches promised.

The rear camera system pairs a 50MP f/1.8 primary sensor with a secondary lens, while the front has an 8MP camera. AI features include AI eraser, AI sky replacement and AI dynamic shot.

Poco said the new Silicon Carbon battery supports 33W fast charging, 18W reverse charging and can retain 80% capacity after 1,600 cycles over four years. Other features include dual SIM support, a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, an IR blaster and Wet Touch Technology 2.0 for use with wet hands.

The company did not provide an alternative wired audio option to replace the removed headphone jack.
