Square Enix has not revealed a release date or trailer for Final Fantasy 7 Remake Part 3, but Creative Director Tetsuya Nomura said the game is progressing according to schedule.

Fans tuning into a recent Ever Crisis livestream had hoped for a major update on the third installment of the remake series. Instead, Nomura addressed expectations by referencing earlier comments from Game Director Motomu Toriyama, who had suggested the anniversary of the mobile title could bring news.

Nomura says FF7 Remake Part 3 and Kingdom Hearts 4 are progressing well and according to schedule!

“It is going very smoothly,” Nomura said, in comments translated by Genki. “The announcement timing has been decided and we will stick to that schedule, so please rest assured and wait.” He added that the Ever Crisis broadcast “wouldn’t be appropriate” for such an announcement.

Reports last year suggested that the story for Remake Part 3 was completed in 2024, while voice actor leaks have hinted that production is well advanced. However, Square Enix’s schedule for the Tokyo Game Show on September 25 contains no reference to unannounced titles, leaving fans to speculate that The Game Awards in December could be the next venue for updates.

Nomura also commented on Kingdom Hearts 4, the action role-playing game featuring Disney characters. “We are also making good strides for Kingdom Hearts 4 too!” he said. The project, in development since 2019, is shifting to Unreal Engine 5 with a refreshed art style, according to screenshots previously released.
