Reddit has introduced new publishing tools aimed at media organizations, expanding its Reddit Pro suite for verified businesses. The features, called Pro Tools for Publishers, are currently in beta and are already being tested by outlets including The Atlantic, The Hill, NBC News and The Associated Press.
The new toolkit allows publishers to share and track their content directly within the platform. “These tools are just the first step in empowering publishers to engage more deeply on Reddit and giving users a conversation-forward reading experience,” the company said.
Pro Tools includes a new “Links” tab where outlets can access analytics on shared articles, monitor engagement and receive AI-powered suggestions on which communities may be most relevant for their stories. Publishers can also sync RSS feeds for automatic posting.
In addition, Reddit is testing a feature that enables users to read articles directly in the Reddit app, removing the need to click through to external websites. The change is designed to support discussion by integrating reading and commenting in one place.
The launch comes as search platforms and online news distribution increasingly shift toward AI-driven models. Reddit has positioned itself as a space “to find headlines and discuss stories with real, human perspectives.”
Reddit plans to highlight the new tools at the Online News Association Conference in New Orleans, running September 10–13, where it will host a training camp for publishers interested in joining the beta program.
