Warborne Above Ashes, a free-to-play MMORPG from developer Qooland Games, has launched on Steam, focusing on large-scale player-versus-player battles and open-world faction wars.
The title features real-time combat, with matches ranging from small team skirmishes to 100v100 encounters. Players can choose from more than 40 “Drifters” and over 100 gear options, with no fixed classes. Developers said the game lets “players pick sides, join warbands, fight for hubs on the map, and vie for control of resource points.”
Initial reception has been mixed. Many players praised the scale of battles and flexibility in builds, while others criticized balance between equipment, stability during large fights, and limited content for solo or PvE players. Some also raised concerns about the grind required to reset or adjust builds.
Steam data showed launch activity peaked at around 15,800 concurrent players. Reviews currently stand at “Mixed,” with roughly 55% of about 450 players rating the game positively.
The title enters a competitive MMO market and will rely on future updates to address performance and content depth in order to sustain its player base.
