Lenovo has launched its Self-Charging Bluetooth Keyboard, an accessory first introduced at CES 2025. The device, originally scheduled for release in May, is now available to purchase but at a higher cost and in fewer options than previously announced.
When unveiled in January, Lenovo said the keyboard would retail for $69.99. The final price is $99.99, representing a $30 increase. At launch, it is available only in black, with no confirmation on whether a white version will be released.
The device eliminates the need for a traditional battery by using a supercapacitor and a photovoltaic cell that captures power from ambient light. Lenovo highlighted that the design enables continuous charging without requiring direct sunlight. “What makes the Lenovo Self-Charging Bluetooth Keyboard interesting is that it doesn’t have a battery. Instead, it uses a supercapacitor to store energy,” the company noted. For low-light environments, the keyboard includes a USB-C port for emergency charging, providing up to one month of use when fully charged.
The full-sized keyboard has 108 island-style keys, a dedicated number pad and a low-profile 2.5 zone layout designed for quieter typing. Other features include adjustable tilt legs, spill resistance, Bluetooth 5.1 connectivity, Microsoft Swift Pair support and compatibility with Windows 10 and 11. It can also be managed through the Lenovo Accessories and Display Manager app.
The Lenovo Self-Charging Bluetooth Keyboard is available directly from the company and comes with a three-year warranty.
