Asus has confirmed pricing for its ROG Xbox Ally gaming handhelds after months of speculation, setting U.S. retail prices higher than earlier leaks had indicated.
The base model will be available for $599.99, while the higher-end ROG Xbox Ally X featuring a Ryzen AI Z2 Extreme processor will sell for $999.99. Pre-orders have opened ahead of an Oct. 16 shipping date. The Ally X will initially be sold exclusively through Best Buy.
“After months of speculation, Asus has finally confirmed the ROG Xbox Ally and ROG Xbox Ally X prices,” the company said. “Unfortunately, for U.S. gamers, the MSRPs are higher than previous leaks had suggested.”

Regional pricing was also announced: €599.99/€899.99 in Europe, £499.99/£799.99 in the UK, C$799.99/C$1,299.99 in Canada, and A$799.99/A$1,599.99 in Australia.
The final pricing contrasts with a September 13 leak from a YouTuber that suggested lower U.S. price points of $549.99 and $899.99, information later verified by a Best Buy employee.
Both models feature 7-inch 1080p 120Hz displays and Microsoft’s new full-screen Xbox experience. The Ally X differentiates itself with a 1TB SSD, 24GB of LPDDR5X RAM, and upgraded processing power.
The devices will compete with handhelds like Lenovo’s Legion Go 2, which offers an OLED screen, and Valve’s Steam Deck LCD, which was recently discounted to $319.99.
