Outfit7 has unveiled a remastered version of its popular mobile game Talking Tom Cat, marking 15 years since the app first went viral. The updated release introduces new animations, refined visuals and enhanced interactive features while retaining the talkback mechanic that originally defined the game.
The relaunch forms part of Outfit7’s broader rebrand of the Talking Tom & Friends franchise, with Tom redesigned to appear more expressive and animated. According to the company, the character’s updated look delivers “every flick of an eyebrow to each cheeky smirk and hilarious reaction,” making him feel more lifelike for both returning fans and new players.
The game retains its trademark humor, including poking, scratching and exaggerated food antics, now paired with modern enhancements such as voice modulators, filters and improved sharing options for social media. Tom’s environment has also been refreshed, with a redesigned street corner and new food interactions like spaghetti twirls and cotton candy mishaps.
Talking Tom has become a cultural phenomenon since its launch in 2010, amassing more than 1.5 billion downloads and 260 billion recorded player interactions. The remake aims to expand the character’s reach to a new generation while capitalizing on its established global fan base.
The remastered Talking Tom Cat is now available for Android and iOS users through a free update, while iPad users can download the updated version separately via the App Store.
