Segway and European micro-mobility operator Dott have launched the Urban B200, a new generation of shared e-bikes, across Paris. The rollout follows Dott’s renewed four-year contract with the City of Paris and forms part of a broader €10 million investment aimed at expanding sustainable transport options between 2025 and 2029.
The Urban B200 was jointly developed by Segway and Dott, combining local insights from Parisian riders with Segway’s global engineering expertise. The model introduces improvements such as an enhanced torque sensor for smoother acceleration, a redesigned high-visibility dashboard, and new safety-focused components including covered chains and full fenders.
Operational efficiency has been a key focus of the project. The B200’s 918Wh battery offers up to 120 kilometers on a single charge, while reduced standby power consumption allows bikes to retain energy for up to six weeks. These updates are expected to reduce battery replacement frequency and lower maintenance costs for fleet operators.
Paris remains Dott’s largest market, with more than 5 million rides recorded in 2025. The company plans to maintain a dedicated local team to manage fleet maintenance, rebalancing, and ongoing deployment. Older e-bike models will be reassigned to other European cities to support full lifecycle use and minimize waste.
The introduction of the Urban B200 marks a milestone for both companies as they seek to define the next stage of urban mobility in Europe. The new fleet is positioned to enhance reliability and rider experience while aligning with Paris’s broader sustainability and emission-reduction targets.
