Xiaomi’s Bone Conduction Headphones 2 are now available for purchase through import retailers, offering users a waterproof and storage-equipped alternative to conventional wireless audio gear. The model, previously limited to select markets, can now be ordered from TradingShenzhen for around $124, excluding shipping and potential import duties.
According to Xiaomi, the headphones employ bone conduction technology instead of traditional audio drivers, transmitting sound vibrations directly through the skull. This design allows users to keep their ears open to ambient noise, making it suitable for outdoor activities or swimming. “We would definitely recommend trying such a system, as the audio experience is very different compared to regular headphones,” the original product description noted.
One of the key advantages of the device is its waterproof capability. The Bone Conduction Headphones 2 can reportedly withstand depths of up to 16 feet, allowing use during swimming sessions. The headset also features a 12-hour battery life, according to company specifications.
A notable inclusion is 32GB of internal storage, enabling music playback without the need for a smartphone. The feature compensates for Bluetooth signal interference that occurs underwater, giving swimmers greater freedom of movement during training sessions.
Additionally, the headset comes with integrated motion sensors designed to record swimming metrics such as lap counts and stroke speed. While warranty coverage may be limited when buying through import channels, the headphones’ combination of durability, autonomy, and fitness tracking may appeal to athletes seeking an all-in-one swimming companion.
