Grinding Gear Games said it will unveil the next major update for Path of Exile 2, titled The Last of the Druids, during a livestream on December 4. The studio confirmed that the league will introduce a new Druid class, adding that leagues “typically last for four months,” according to the press release.
The update, known as patch 0.4, will be available to play on December 11. The developer also announced a free weekend from December 12 to December 15 on PC, Pand Xbox platforms. The company noted that “any progress made in the free-to-play weekend will carry over to the main game,” allowing newcomers to retain their characters should they purchase the title or wait for its eventual free-to-play launch.
The new league follows the game’s established seasonal structure, in which players create fresh characters that later migrate to the Standard league after the season concludes. The developer said the Druid class will debut with its own mechanics and combat style, though full details will be shared during the upcoming reveal event.
Grinding Gear Games highlighted that the upcoming trial period is meant to give players an opportunity to explore early content. The studio said the three-day window is “long enough to determine if it is for you,” acknowledging that Path of Exile 2’s depth far exceeds what can be experienced in a short session.
