A new leak indicates that ZTE’s Nubia brand is developing two foldable smartphones, including its first book-style model, positioning the company to compete directly with Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold 7. The information, shared on X by leaker Evan Blass, also includes images of the third-generation clamshell device, the Nubia Flip 3.
The leaked image of the larger device, reportedly called the Nubia Fold, shows it in an unfolded state with uniform bezels around the internal display and a camera placed at the top right corner. No details were provided regarding the display’s size. The rear panel features an oversized camera island covering nearly the top third of the device. “While there are four circles, they most likely do not all have a camera lens,” the leak noted, comparing the design to the RedMagic 11 Pro+.
A technical diagram shared alongside the image shows the Nubia Fold’s cover display includes a centred punch-hole camera. The diagram also indicates the placement of the SIM tray, speaker grilles, microphones and a USB-C port.

Nubia’s second upcoming model, the Flip 3, adopts a significantly different design from its predecessors. The Nubia Flip from 2024 featured a circular cover screen, while the 2025 Flip 2 used a rectangular portrait display. The new Flip 3 replaces both with a full-width external display that wraps around the dual cameras, similar to the Razr 60 Ultra. Although the rear module appears to lack an LED flash, the leak states that Nubia has relocated the dual-LED flash to the lower half of the clamshell, a layout also used by Honor on the Magic V Flip 2.
No launch timeline or specifications for either device have surfaced. Nubia may announce the foldables later this year or wait until 2026, according to the leak.
