Garmin has expanded its golf accessory lineup with the global launch of the Approach CT1 SuperStroke Edition, an NFC-based tracking tag designed for golfers using putter grips equipped with a SuperStroke tech port.
The new version extends the company’s existing CT1 tracking system but differs only in physical design compared to the standard model. According to the original product description, the SuperStroke Edition is “designed especially to work with the tech port on SuperStroke putter grips.”

The CT1 tag pairs with compatible Garmin smartwatches, such as the Approach S44, and records statistical performance during play. Players tap the accessory against their smartwatch before each shot to log information including shot length, accuracy, and position on the course. Logged data can also be reviewed later in the Garmin Golf smartphone app to identify performance trends.
Garmin lists the SuperStroke Edition as battery-free, weighing 6 g and measuring 27 mm wide and 12.1 mm tall. The device has a black finish and IPX7 water-resistance rating.

The product is priced at $29.99 / £25.99 / €29.99. For comparison, a set of sixteen standard CT1 golf club tags sells for around $99.99 at retail, putting the cost per tag at roughly $6.25.
Garmin has positioned the accessory for golfers looking to expand data tracking to their putter without replacing the existing club grip. The launch continues the company’s strategy of integrating NFC technology into golf performance systems across watches and accessories.
