Capcom is believed to be developing a new entry in the Dead Rising franchise, with early reports indicating the potential return of a key character, though no official announcement has been made by the publisher.
The first Dead Rising game launched in 2006 and has since produced multiple sequels set in violent post-apocalyptic environments. Speculation around a new installment has grown amid claims that the project has been in development since 2023 and may feature familiar faces from earlier titles. According to the information circulated online, fan-favourite protagonist Frank West may reappear, alongside other characters linked to past storylines.

The latest reports suggest that the narrative could shift to a Hollywood setting, with events unfolding on a film set. Early descriptions describe a scenario in which a deranged director traps cast and crew in pursuit of what he considers the “perfect film.” The game is also expected to retain signature mechanics, including West’s camera system, time-limited missions and survivor-rescue gameplay elements. One leak stated that the project “would be the direct sequel to Dead Rising,” implying continuity with the original timeline.
Despite the widespread interest generated by the rumours, there has been no confirmation from Capcom. Industry observers are urging caution until the studio provides formal clarification. With nearly 10 years having passed since the release of Dead Rising 4, fans are watching closely for developments while acknowledging that the current information remains unofficial and subject to change.
