Samsung Electronics said it is working with Alphabet’s Google to bring the Google Photos application to Samsung smart televisions, a move aimed at extending personal photo and video viewing from mobile devices to larger screens in the home.

The planned integration is intended to allow users to access photos and videos stored in Google Photos directly on Samsung TVs, presenting personal content in a larger, more immersive format designed for shared viewing. Samsung said the experience is expected to begin rolling out on select TV models launched in 2026, with availability varying by region and device.

Under the partnership, Google Photos is set to be embedded more deeply into Samsung’s TV software environment, including features such as Daily+ and Daily Board, which are designed to surface content throughout the day. Users will be able to sign in with their Google accounts to display backed-up photos and videos without additional setup, according to the companies.

Samsung said the integration will also link Google Photos with its Vision AI Companion, enabling curated displays of memories organized by people, places and events. An initial Memories feature is planned for early 2026, with a period of exclusivity on Samsung TVs, followed later in the year by additional tools focused on creative editing and personalized photo discovery.

Google said the expansion reflects its broader effort to make photo libraries easier to organize and enjoy across different devices, while Samsung positioned the move as part of its strategy to make televisions a more central hub for personal and family content.

The companies said feature availability will depend on TV models and software update schedules, and some creative tools will be offered exclusively on Samsung televisions.
