Problem after software update, Pixel Phone rejects calls automatically

A strange problem has arisen after a software update that released for its latest flagship phone. This makes us see quite often why 12 is so problematic for certain phones. Now some Pixel owners are reporting that their phones can’t complete pretty basic tasks, like ringing when a call comes in.

Unlike the issue with notification vibrations that suddenly changed without explanation that happened some time ago, the new issue is not something that can be confirmed. However, posts on and Google’s support forums describe an issue where some incoming calls appear to be silently declined, sending callers directly to voicemail.

Reporting from The Verge (19/4), the call logs of the mobile phone users show that the incoming call is “rejected”, when in fact, the phone is not ringing, and the users all claim that they have not enabled the Do Not Disturb setting or other options that might be blocking the call.

A commenter on PhoneArena said he had a similar issue that turned out to be caused by Verizon’s spam filtering, but reports of the problem were consistent across carriers.

There seems to be no confirmed way to fix the problem, other than to reset the device of those affected by the problem. Reports of this issue have mostly come from owners of and devices, but some owners of older Pixel phones up to 2XL have said that they have experienced the same thing.
