In mid-2020, two Mi TV Stick models were leaked before the official announcement. Unfortunately, the higher variant with 4K support is not officially released. After a year later, the 4K version appeared once again at the FCC in September 2021. After 3 months since then, the streaming device is now finally official with the ‘Xiaomi’ branding instead of ‘Mi’.

The new Xiaomi TV Stick 4K features the same design as the older Mi TV Stick as they are both part of the same lineup, and were supposed to launch together last year. Hence, it also comes with a minimalistic Bluetooth enabled Xiaomi remote control with microphone integration for voice control. There are also dedicated shortcuts for Netflix as well as Prime Video.

Reporting from Gizmochina (17/12), this dongle is powered by the Amlogic S905Y4 chipset which consists of an ARM Cortex-A35 CPU and an ARM Mali-G31 MP2 GPU. The chipset is paired with 2GB of RAM and 8GB of internal storage.

As for the software side, it runs Android TV 11 with support for leading streaming services, Chromecast Built-in, Google Assistant, Play Store, and more. Thanks to the upgraded processor, the device is not only capable of playing 4K content but is also compatible with the AV1 codec. The Xiaomi TV Stick 4K also has support for Dolby Vision, Dolby Atmos, and DTS HD.

In terms of connectivity, this product comes with dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.0, 1 HDMI, and 1 Micro USB. The sales package comes with an HDMI extender cable and power adapter. The dimensions of the Xiaomi TV Stick are 106.8 x 29.4 x 15.4 mm and the weight is 42.8 grams. Unfortunately, the price for the Xiaomi TV Stick 4K is not yet known.
