AirPods will be able to help users avoid road accidents

Launching Gizmochina (10/7), Apple is currently filing a set of these patents with the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO). With this information, the company seems to be coming up with a contextual audio system capable of changing the volume automatically to ensure users can hear important sounds around them, such as emergency sirens and car horns.

Later, the system can determine the direction and speed of travel using GPS data and other sensor parameters collected via the iPhone or to change the level of the left or right headphones to match. For example, if the road is on the user’s left, then this audio system will only lower the volume of the user’s on the left.

Furthermore, this technology can also play alarm audio stored on iPhone or Apple Watch to warn people to be alert. Thus, the sound on these audio devices can be reduced or even paused when users are in situations that require concentration, such as hazardous environments, work locations, and educational facilities.

The patent also mentions specific sensors that will work in conjunction with other sensors inside the iPhone or Apple Watch to monitor the user’s body position and take appropriate action. This is also intended to minimize the potential for accidents experienced by users of the Apple audio device.

Based on the speculation circulating, this latest audio technology will be presented by Apple on their AirPods devices. The leak also mentions that this is related to information about the AirPods Pro 2 which is expected to be launched by the company at the end of 2022.

Apple hopes that the AirPods will help users avoid accidents on the road or on noisy construction sites. In addition, the company is also expected to improve a number of health-related features on their AirPods such as heart rate monitoring.

For information, Apple also filed another patent for their AirPods device called the ‘ Ear Bud System With Pose Recognition’. This indicates that the company is currently considering developing a posture detection system for the AirPods further.
