Apple is known to be preparing to launch several Macs with a new M2 chip set to launch later this year, according to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman (21/2). Gurman said the company will introduce the redesigned 13-inch MacBook Pro, Mac Mini, 24-inch iMac and MacBook Air. All these devices are believed to use the new M2 chip.
According to Gurman, the M2 chipset will have slightly faster CPU performance than the M1. The chipset will consist of the same 8 core architecture. The graphics core can jump from 7 or 8 to 9 or 10.
In addition, the Bloomberg reporter also thinks that the company will release Pro and Max versions of the M2 chip – as it did with the M1 chip – as well as announce the next M3 chip.

To note, the M1 chip was first announced in November 2020. A few months after that, the company launched the M1 Pro and M1 Max. Since Apple was no longer dependent on Intel, this prompted the company to update its Mac lineup.
Gurman hopes the upcoming iMac Pro will be larger than the current 27-inch iMac Pro. The device is also expected to come with M1 Pro and M1 Max chip options. Also, the Mac Mini option with the upgraded M1 Pro, in addition to the M2 variety.

So far, the company is expected to release a new Mac, iPhone SE 5G, and iPad Air 5G in March, followed by another release in May or June. In addition to new devices, Apple is also likely to launch iOS 15.4 which is equipped with a mask-friendly FaceID or in other words, it can detect the user’s face even if he is wearing a mask.
