Asus has launched the V500 Mini Tower, a compact desktop PC that utilizes a mobile Intel processor to reduce power consumption and noise levels. The machine, which measures 34.7 x 29.6 x 15.5 cm, begins at $549.99 for the base configuration.
The V500 can be configured with up to an Intel Core i7-13620H, a laptop-class chip featuring six performance and six efficiency cores. Asus pairs this with a desktop cooler, enabling a 95-watt power limit. According to the company, using a mobile processor cuts power use by 34% and keeps fan noise as low as 38 dB under load.
Graphics options include an upgradeable Nvidia GeForce RTX 4060 via a PCIe 4.0 x8 slot, although this model has not yet been released. The system supports up to 64 GB of RAM and 4 TB of SSD storage.
Connectivity features include HDMI, DisplayPort, six USB-A ports, one USB-C port, Wi-Fi 6, and Bluetooth 5.4. The tower ships with a 180-watt power supply.
While the compact design limits CPU upgrade options, Asus positions the V500 as a quiet and energy-efficient desktop alternative. Further details can be found on Asus official product page.
