U.S. audio company Audeze has introduced the LCD-5s, its latest flagship over-ear headphones, featuring revised planar magnetic drivers designed to deliver cleaner sound reproduction and improved low-frequency performance for high-resolution audio listeners.
The LCD-5s is positioned as a successor to the LCD-5 headphones released in 2021, which carried a list price of $4,500. Audeze said the new model uses redesigned 90 mm planar magnetic drivers aimed at extending both bass response and high-frequency detail while maintaining low distortion levels.

According to the company, the headphones offer a frequency response from 5 Hz to 50 kHz and total harmonic distortion of less than 0.1% at 100 dB. The drivers are built around Audeze’s proprietary technologies, including ultra-thin Parallel Uniforce diaphragms and its Symmetric Linear Acoustic Modulator system. Audeze said these components are intended to deliver “powerful low-end bass and refined precision” in sound reproduction.
Despite a relatively low impedance rating of 30 ohms, Audeze recommends pairing the LCD-5s with a high-power audio source capable of delivering more than 500 milliwatts. The headphones can handle up to 5 watts RMS of input power, according to the specifications.

The LCD-5s weighs 475 grams and ships with a 4-pin XLR balanced cable, along with 6.3 mm and 3.5 mm adapters. The accessories are housed in an aluminum travel case, underscoring the premium positioning of the product in Audeze’s headphone lineup.
