AutoFlight, the commercial electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) aircraft developer backed by battery manufacturer CATL, has introduced a floating “sea-air mobility” platform designed to serve as a deployable airport for its aircraft. The Solar Wind Magnetosphere Ionosphere Link Explorer (Smile), a joint mission between the European Space Agency (ESA) and the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS), has completed its ten-month Assembly, Integration and Testing (AIT) phase, ESA said.
