BenQ has introduced the Zowie XL2540X+, a new addition to its esports-focused monitor lineup, offering a 280Hz refresh rate and enhancements aimed at professional and competitive gamers. The 24.1-inch display serves as a successor to earlier models in the XL series, including the XL2540 and XL2546.
Maintaining a Full HD (1920×1080) resolution and TN panel technology, the XL2540X+ prioritizes speed over image quality. It offers a 1ms response time, Adaptive-Sync support, and a 0.279mm pixel pitch, making it suited for latency-sensitive titles such as Counter-Strike 2 and Valorant.
“While it may not appeal to creators or casual users, the XL2540X+ is purpose-built for competitive gaming where frame rate and input lag are critical,” BenQ stated. The monitor features a W-LED backlight with 320 nits of brightness and a 1000:1 contrast ratio. Despite claims of 100% sRGB and 95% DCI-P3 coverage, color performance is limited by the TN panel’s characteristics.
Additional features include BenQ’s signature S Switch puck for quick menu control, Black eQualizer for better visibility in dark scenes, and game-specific profiles. The monitor comes bundled with HDMI and DisplayPort cables, a shielding hood, and supports standard height and swivel adjustments.
While global pricing and availability are yet to be disclosed, the XL2540X+ is listed with a 2025 model year designation. It is expected to appeal primarily to existing users of BenQ’s earlier esports monitors seeking an upgrade in refresh rate and input responsiveness.
