The lightweight operating system for laptops made by Google, Chrome OS is the fastest growing OS today. In its latest report, Google said that Chrome OS growth was 92% better than last year.

Reporting from 9to5Google on Wednesday (12/22/2021), Chrome OS growth is five times faster than the average number in the PC market and makes it the fastest growing operating system.

According to Google, the progress of its OS is driven by users who want to experience an Android smartphone-like experience on devices that have bigger screens.

In the same report, Google also said that the use of Android apps on Chrome OS increased by 50% year over year. Google previously shared in October 2019 that time spent on Android apps on Chrome OS had quadrupled year over year.

Over the past two years, Android apps and the Play Store have proliferated on Chromebooks, while more and more devices have made their way to the masses.
