OPPO officially launched ColorOS 13 globally on Thursday (18/8) yesterday by bringing a number of enhanced functions. These include Multi-Screen Connect, Always-On Display, AI System Booster, and more.

“ColorOS 13 is an operating system that will provide innovation for our users to live a smarter life,” said Gary Chen, Head of OPPO Software Product during a media briefing some time ago.

Gary added, ColorOS 13 will also provide better performance than its predecessor operating system. According to him, this cannot be separated from the various features that are improved on the latest operating system for the OPPO device.

One of the advantages of this latest OPPO operating system is that the transition effect is softer compared to its predecessor. Even so, the transitions that run on this device will still look natural, making it easier to use.

By cooperating with Android, ColorOS 13 will offer a compact, comfortable and smooth operating experience. Through the AI System Booster feature, the cellphone is claimed to be able to run more smoothly for daily use, including when playing games.

Meanwhile, the Always-On Display feature embedded in ColorOS 13 has also improved from its predecessor. This allows users to control apps as well as check additional information without needing to unlock the screen. When in Always-On mode, the refresh rate has also been lowered to 1 Hz to save more power.

Furthermore, ColorOS 13 is also inspired by the security and privacy features of Android 13 and has a similar set of customization features to Google Material You. This operating system also carries an Aquamorphic design inspired by flowing water to bring a peaceful and calming energy to their users.

Currently ColorOS 13 can be enjoyed on Find X5 and Find X5 Pro devices. OPPO said that the use of the ColorOS 13 operating system on the Find X5 Pro can result in a longer battery life, namely 34 hours of normal use, 22 hours of playing videos, 9 hours of gaming, and 8 hours of making video calls.

Meanwhile, the Reno8 Pro 5G smartphone will get a Beta version update in September, followed by Reno8 5G in October and closed Reno8 Z 5G and Reno8 in December 2022. OPPO will then continue to bring ColorOS 13 to more than 20 devices starting in 2023.
