3D printer manufacturer Creality has expanded its flagship K2 series with the launch of the K2 Pro, a smaller and more affordable alternative to the K2 Plus, which debuted in mid-2024.
The company is initially offering the K2 Pro only in a combo package with a Creality Filament System (CFS) unit, priced at $1,049, with availability starting August 24.
The K2 Pro features a Core X/Y design and a build volume of 300x300x300 mm, capable of print speeds up to 600 mm/s and acceleration of 20,000 mm/s². The 0.4 mm tri-metal nozzle reaches a maximum of 300 degrees Celsius, and the heated bed reaches up to 110 degrees Celsius.
The printer supports smart auto-leveling, a flexible PEI build plate, and multicolor printing with up to four CFS units. AI monitoring, filament tangle detection, and power-loss recovery are included.
While retaining many K2 Plus capabilities, the K2 Pro lacks automatic belt tensioning, a second auxiliary cooling fan, and a 1080p camera, using a 720p camera instead.
It does include Wi-Fi connectivity and an RJ45 port. Based on the combo pricing, the standalone printer is estimated to cost between $750 and $800.
Creality said the K2 Pro will support challenging filaments such as ASA, ABS, PA-CF, and PPA-CF, thanks to its enclosed chamber and temperature control, aiming to provide enthusiasts and professional users with a lower-cost entry into its flagship 3D printing series.
