Tesla’s , the company’s first with an 800V powertrain architecture, has set a new charging speed record, reaching a 405 kW peak rate at a 600 kW charger in Europe.

The electric pickup, equipped with the latest 4680 Cybercell , achieved this milestone during a demonstration by the Ejoin charging network. This marks a significant improvement over the initial charging times for the Cybertruck, which were criticized for being slow despite the advanced powertrain.

had previously issued a software update to enhance the Cybertruck’s charging curve, addressing concerns over its speed. Following the update, owners reported much faster charging sessions, including one instance where the vehicle hit a 330 kW peak at a V4 Supercharger.

However, the recent test at Ejoin’s 600 kW station exceeded expectations, with the Cybertruck reaching a 405 kW peak rate at just 7% battery in under two minutes.

At the 20-minute mark, the truck had already reached 60% charge, and 15 minutes later, it hit 80%. “It took Tesla’s electric pickup just two minutes to hit 405 kW peak speed at 7% battery,” noted a source familiar with the test.

The updated charging performance allows the Cybertruck to add 150 miles of in just 15 minutes, positioning it as a frontrunner in fast-charging capabilities. Tesla is also upgrading select V4 Superchargers to 350 kW, aiming to improve charging times further as more Cybertrucks hit the road.
