Decathlon has launched a new electric gravel bike in Europe, the Van Rysel E-GRVL AF Discover, expanding its E-GRVL lineup with a model aimed at both daily riders and long-distance adventurers. The company describes the new e-bike as “the Swiss Army knife of electric bikes,” emphasizing its versatility for various terrains and conditions.

The E-GRVL AF Discover is powered by Decathlon’s in-house 250W brushless motor that delivers 35 Nm of torque, offering assistance up to 25 kph across three modes: Eco, Tour and Sport. Its 360 Wh removable battery provides up to 100 km of range and can be fully charged in about 4.5 hours. A 2-inch Ergo 920 TFT color display mounted on the handlebar shows speed, range, and assistance level, though it does not include Bluetooth connectivity.

The model features a Shimano Cues 1×11-speed transmission system and Shimano RS405 hydraulic disc brakes, paired with Vittoria Terreno T30 tires for improved traction and stability on mixed surfaces. Battery-powered lighting includes a 60 lux front headlight and integrated rear lights, along with handlebar buttons that allow riders to easily adjust assistance levels.

Built on an aluminum frame with a mixed carbon and aluminum fork, the medium-sized version weighs 17.7 kg. Decathlon says the design aims to balance comfort and performance, making it suitable for both city commutes and off-road trails.

The Van Rysel E-GRVL AF Discover e-bike is now available in khaki for €2,299.99 in the Netherlands and €2,199.99 in France and Spain. The company has not confirmed if or when the model will be released in the United Kingdom.
