The Dell's Alienware monitor that uses Samsung's Quantum dot OLED (QD-OLED) technology is predicted to arrive in the third quarter of 2022. This news is obtained from the company's official tweet, this monitor will be sold in the range of USD 1,299. Dell first unveiled a 34-inch curved gaming display at CES that promises ultra-high contrast OLED displays with enhanced brightness, color range, and uniformity.

Indeed, the price that it carries does not look cheap enough. But other OLED tech monitors can be much more expensive. The 32-inch LG UltraFine OLED model costs $3,999, and even the 27-inch UltraFine model costs $2,999.

This Alienware model has specs designed more for gamers than content creators. The monitor has a resolution of 3,440 x 1,440 pixels, a refresh rate of 175 Hz, a DCI-P3 color gamut of 99.3%, a contrast ratio of 1,000,000:1, and a brightness of 250 nits with a peak of 1,000 nits. It also offers HDR, compliant with the minimum DisplayHDR True Black 400 standard for OLED displays.

Reporting from Engadget (15/2), Samsung's QD-OLED technology uses organic blue light-emitting diodes that pass through quantum dots to produce red and green colors. Compared to standard OLED, which uses a compound blue and yellow OLED. Blue has the strongest light energy, so QD-OLED in theory offers better brightness and efficiency. Other advantages include a longer life, better viewing angles, and less potential for burn-in.
