OPPO A96 is the first A series that carries many premium features from the series above. Call it the Reno Series.

Not only does it bring a myriad of features, some of the designs are copied from the Reno series, and also use OPPO Glow technology for the back cover.

OPPO A96 comes with larger dimensions when compared to the previous A series. This device comes with a height of 164.4 mm, a width of 75.7 mm and a thickness of 8.4 mm. Its weight is calculated in the range of 191 grams.

Although heavier and thicker, the OPPO A96 applies a 3D Slim Body design. This makes it look sleek, and comfortable to operate in the hand because the edges are curved to follow the contours of the palm.

The successor of the OPPO A95 carries a larger screen, which is 6.59 inches with a FHD 1080 x 2412 resolution. OPPO uses thin bezels on the right and left of the screen, allowing the screen-to-body ratio to reach 90.8%. The refresh rate is increased to 90 Hz, and the touch sampling rate is 180 Hz.

Although it still uses an LTPS-LCD panel, the screen display is fairly bright and sharp. This is thanks to the 96% NTSC color standard and the color mode that OPPO applies (Vivid mode).

In addition, the screen is also supported by a smart feature called All-day AI Eye Comfort, mainly for easy viewing of content at any time, day or night.

The fingerprint sensor is no longer planted under the screen. OPPO A96 embeds it in the power button. To open the lock screen, just touch the power button with the registered finger.

The next part that is quite interesting from the A96 is the back cover. Not because this series only carries OPPO Glow technology on the back cover, but unexpectedly that this variant has quite good resistance, behind its eye-catching design.

OPPO Indonesia had shown how tough the OPPO A96 was by conducting a series of tests. This series of tests shows that not only sells visuals, but OPPO provides powerful devices for its users, by ensuring that these devices pass the OPPO Enduring Quality test. Includes IPX4 test, friction, button resistance, to the strength of the port when plugged in and out using the connector.

While the camera housing design also looks new, it seems to use the same design language as the Reno7 variant. Where the housing is rectangular and there are two cameras that have large frames and LED support.

When compared to the predecessor series, it can be said that there are many improvements that OPPO provides in the form of this A96. Including the specifications.

OPPO A96 is powered by a Snapdragon 680 processor, 8 GB RAM, 256 GB ROM with expansion support up to 1 TB. From there alone there are 3 differences, the type of processor, the amount of ROM and support for expansion.

With a smaller size, where the Snapdragon 680 processor on OPPO A96 is built using a 6nm manufacturing process and runs at 2.40 GHz, OPPO A96 certainly promises an increase in performance and power efficiency.

From the testing process using the PCMark benchmark application to get an overview of daily usage simulations, OPPO A96 was able to score better than the processor used in the previous series.

Processor performance also seemed to improve when tested using the GeekBench application, where the single-core and multi-core scores were 383 and 1658, respectively, an increase from the previous series processor scores which scored 311 single-core and 1267 multi-core.

Its GPU capabilities have also improved. Tests conducted using the 3DMark Sling Shot benchmark application, the new device scored 2054 and 2084 for the Sling Shot and Sling Shot Unlimited test modes.

With the score above, the OPPO A96 is classified as having a pretty good performance for daily use, such as opening several applications at once with a smooth experience.

Carrying the same large battery size, which is 5000mAh, the OPPO A96 can actually offer a longer life than the A95. From the PCMark Battery Life test, simulating the use of the device non-stop for browsing, opening files, playing videos, this latest A series device can last up to 21 hours 53 minutes, almost a full day!

When compared to the previous series which also has a durability that is not less long with a range of 17 hours 13 minutes, OPPO A96 excels at around 4 hours 40 minutes. This proves that the efficiency of this device is very good. Users don't have to worry about running out of battery easily when doing super busy daily activities.

Although it has a long battery life and makes users don't have to think about how it feels to run out of battery in the middle of an activity, OPPO also embeds fast charging technology on this device. No longer Flash Charge, OPPO A96 is supported by 33W SUPERVOOC which is generally found in the Reno series.

With the 33W SUPERVOOC, charging the battery from 5% to full can take anywhere from 60-70 minutes.
