After several teasers and leaks, OPPO finally launched a foldable phone via Find N at the OPPO INNO Day event. This device has been in development for 4 years and finally officially announced.

OPPO Find N has gone through a number of prototypes over the past 4 years to offer a better foldable phone experience. The company places great emphasis on developing design, hinges, and overall durability.

The external display uses a 5.49-inch AMOLED panel, while the internal main display is a 7.1-inch E5 AMOLED panel that offers up to 1,000 nits of brightness with an adaptive refresh rate of 1 Hz to 120 Hz. This screen comes with a P3 color gamut and 100% sRGB, so it has high color accuracy. For its protection, it uses UTG glass and it even comes with TÜV Rheinland certification as well.

Reporting from Gizmochina (16/12), one of the areas that OPPO focuses on is removing wrinkles and increasing overall durability. Even though it weighs 275 grams, the company is trying to increase user comfort when holding it. This design feels ergonomic to ensure the device does not feel heavy. For durability, the company guarantees the device can be folded 100 thousand times for more than 5 years at a temperature of -20 degrees Celsius without any wrinkles in the middle.

In particular, apart from folded and unfolded mode, it can even be used in FlexForm mode. In this mode, users can basically set the device at any angle between the other two modes which even works with the camera app for certain shooting modes as well. This feature is made possible thanks to the new Flexian hinge mechanism (composed of 136 parts), which is claimed to be one of the best on the market.

Another area where the company is making additional settings is the user interface (UI). Users can access split-screen accessibility with just one swipe gesture from the top center region. This makes multitasking very simple and intuitive.

In terms of specifications, OPPO Find N has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 processor and is powered by a 4,500 mAh battery with support for fast charging up to 33W. That processor is paired with 8GB or 12GB of RAM and 256GB or 512GB of USF 3.1 storage.

On the back, this folding phone uses a 3-camera configuration with a main camera with a Sony IMX 766 50 MP sensor, along with a 16 MP ultra-wide angle lens and a 13 MP telephoto camera. The selfie camera houses a 32 MP resolution sensor with punch-holes on the external and internal screens.

OPPO Find N is available in several color variants, namely Black, Secamic White, and Purple. The price is 7,699 yuan for the 8 GB / 256 GB model, and 8,999 yuan for the 12 GB / 512 GB model.
