Calling him one of Square Enix’s busiest executives at the moment doesn’t seem like an exaggeration. Naoki Yoshida who incidentally became the brain and person in charge of Final Fantasy XIV, the Square Enix MMORPG which continues to gain popularity as he ages, is also trusted to handle the main Final Fantasy series via the XVI series which is currently still mysterious.
Yoshida’s decision not to talk much about the game until it’s at least ready to announce a release date leaves hype and anxiety in the same room. Fortunately, he came with good news.
In his latest interview with a clothing retailer – Uniqlo welcomed the collaboration with Final Fantasy, Yoshida talked a little about Final Fantasy XVI which is his responsibility. Yoshida admitted that the development process for the XVI was actually in the final stages despite the delays that had occurred.
He emphasized that XVI is still a single-player game that will focus on the story and characters. The story he calls is not only dense, but also immersive.
Final Fantasy XVI, which is planned for the Playstation 5, unfortunately still doesn’t have a date or just a release window until now. How about you? Still looking forward to this series?
