Fossil Gen 6 is the latest generation of smartwatches that come with upgrades in the hardware sector.
Fossil Gen 6 is available in two size options, namely 44mm and 42mm. In terms of design, not much has changed compared to its predecessor, Gen 5. Both sizes use a 1.28-inch AMOLED screen with a resolution of 416 x 416 pixels.
There are three physical buttons on the right side to make it easier for users to access various features. While in the middle, Fossil re-installed the rotating crown for control. Interestingly, this smartwatch has a microphone and speaker so that users can make voice calls.
Fossil Gen 6 is now armed with the latest Snapdragon Wear 4100+ chipset which promises 85 percent faster performance than Wear 3100. The RAM is 1GB, with 8GB storage capacity. The connectivity sector offers Bluetooth 5 LE, GPS, NFC SE, and WiFi.
For business operating systems, Fossil still relies on Wear OS, which unfortunately is not the latest version. Even so, Fossil promises an update to Wear OS 3.
As a support for a healthy lifestyle, this watch has an SpO2 sensor to monitor oxygen saturation in the blood. There is also a sleep quality monitoring feature and several sport modes. This watch has a water resistance rating of 3ATM. The battery is claimed to last more than 24 hours.
This smartwatch with Google Pay support is offered in several color choices, including Smoke Stainless Steel, Brown Leather, Green Camo Grosgrain, and Gold/Purple. For those who are interested, the Fossil Gen 6 is sold at a starting price of US $ 299. For the strap, the price is in the range of US$29 to US$49.
