Gamescom, the world’s largest gaming trade fair, broke several records in 2025 as hundreds of thousands of visitors gathered in Cologne, Germany, while millions more followed the event online.
Organizers said 357,000 attendees visited Gamescom between Aug. 20 and 24, a 6.5% increase from the 335,000 people who attended in 2024. The number of participating countries rose from 120 to 128, with more than 34,000 trade visitors arriving from Asia and North America.
Gamescom set new records this year.

The Opening Night Live showcase, hosted on Aug. 19 by Geoff Keighley, drew 72 million viewers worldwide, up 80% from 40 million last year. Across all broadcasts and showcases, Gamescom content reached an estimated 630 million viewers on Saturday evening.
German Games Industry Association managing director Felix Falk said, “Gamescom 2025 sets new standards. Bigger, more diverse, and more international than ever before, the most important festival of gaming culture underscores the positive force that games, the industry, and the global community represent.”
Koelnmesse President and CEO Gerald Bose, whose organization manages the event, added, “Gamescom 2025 has once again set a new standard for large-scale international events. With record figures once again in nearly every category, the enormous variety of experiences and global participation, Gamescom is the most important event for the global gaming community.”
This year’s lineup featured major titles such as Hollow Knight: Silksong, Lego Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight, Call of Duty Black Ops 7, Ninja Gaiden 4 and Silent Hill f. Gamescom 2026 is scheduled to return to Cologne from Aug. 25 to 29.
