Google has begun rolling out Wear OS 6 to the Pixel Watch 2 and Pixel Watch 3, with all users expected to receive the update by the end of October. The company confirmed in a support document that the first-generation Pixel Watch will get the update later.

The software introduces Google’s new “Material 3 Expressive” design language, featuring rounder fonts, redesigned buttons, new tile layouts, and expanded color customization. According to Google, the visual overhaul gives the system a more modern and consistent appearance across devices.

Beyond aesthetics, Wear OS 6 brings functional upgrades including performance enhancements and optimizations that “increase battery life by up to 10%.” Google Maps can now automatically open on the watch to handle navigation when walking or cycling.

Users can manually trigger the update under System → About by tapping the smartwatch icon multiple times. The installation requires the device to be at least half charged and connected to a charger.

The update, already preinstalled on the Pixel Watch 4, extends Google’s latest smartwatch software to earlier models, aligning the user experience across its wearable lineup.
