Google has confirmed it will officially unveil the Pixel 10 and Pixel 10 Pro smartphones on August 20, releasing a teaser video that promotes its upcoming devices while indirectly criticizing Apple’s iPhone.

The teaser, released via Google’s official channels, does not reveal new technical details or hardware features beyond previously leaked designs. Instead, it positions the Pixel 10 series in contrast to rival offerings, with a narrative voice stating: “If you buy a new phone because of a feature that’s coming soon, but it’s been coming soon for a full year, you could change the definition of soon. Or you could just change your phone.”

The line is widely interpreted as a reference to Apple’s delay in releasing its AI-powered Siri update, originally announced alongside the iPhone 16 in 2024. The teaser’s tagline, “Ask more of your phone,” may further underscore Google’s emphasis on AI functionality.

In a subtle nod to past rivalries, the teaser features an instrumental version of “The Next Episode” by Dr. Dre. Apple acquired Beats Electronics, the company co-founded by Dre, in 2014. While not explicitly mentioned, the musical choice appears to continue Google’s strategy of contrasting its offerings with Apple’s.

The Pixel 10 series is expected to deliver modest hardware upgrades, according to prior leaks. With limited technical changes anticipated, Google’s latest campaign seems designed to reframe the conversation around usability and innovation in software and services.
