One of the advantages of using Spotify is that you can follow your friends’ accounts and see the playlists of songs and podcasts they listen to every day.

But, there are times when you don’t want other people to know your favorite music taste or podcaster. Fortunately, Spotify recently provided the answer by introducing a new feature that allows users to block followers or followers.

In 2019, Spotify introduced the Block Artist feature that allows users to block artists they don’t want to listen to.

Now, the company is rolling out a feature where users can block fellow listeners. Well, here’s how to block other users on Spotify.

How to block another user’s account on Spotify

  • From the Spotify homepage, search for the username you want to block
  • Type in their profile, then click the three dots button
  • Scroll down and select Block . option

Please note, if you access via an application on a smartphone, the three-dot button is located in the upper right corner of the screen. However, if via a desktop or smart tv, the button is located next to the Follow/Following menu on their profile page.

You can also block someone from the desktop version in a quick way, by right-clicking the name or profile picture of the account. Then a block option will appear.

Using the block feature ensures that unwanted people can’t see your profile, information, or activity on Spotify. This feature will also prevent strangers from reading your habits. If you decide to no longer block someone, just follow the same steps and select “Unblock”.
