Staring at a phone screen, especially with a bright screen, for long periods of time can put strain on the eyes. The longer you spend with your phone, the more important it is to make sure your eyes are protected.

One option the iPhone has to ensure this is to set the screen to Dark mode. This is a mode that can change the entire white background to be darker, making it more pleasing to the eye.

Dark Mode on iPhone is a very useful feature, and it can be set to turn on automatically. This mode can also be customized by yourself, through the various options available in the settings of this mode. For that, here Tek.id shares how to enable and disable Dark mode on iPhone.

How to enable and custom Dark mode on iPhone

  1. Go to Settings or Settings
  2. Scroll down and select Display and Brightness
  3. Click Light or Dark to switch between modes

Under Mode selection, you can also enable an automatic feature that will make iPhone switch modes based on the time of day and night. This can be set with two options, namely “Light Until Sunset” or “Dark Until Sunrise.

Apart from that, modes can also be custom scheduled according to user requirements. This option is under the Automatic option. Here's how to set a custom schedule for Light and Dark mode.

  1. Go to Settings or settings
  2. Click Display & Preferences
  3. Select Options.
  4. Click Custom Schedule.
  5. After that, you can set the desired time for Light mode and Dark mode.

Once done, you can return to the home screen. iPhone will now automatically switch between Light and Dark mode depending on the time you set.
