Indie developer Keepsake Games will release its debut title, Jump Space, into early access on Sept. 19 following a successful demo that drew 500,000 players during Steam’s Next Fest in June. The cooperative sci-fi shooter will launch at $19.99 and expand through multiple planned updates.
Formed by industry veterans who previously worked on Mirror’s Edge, It Takes Two and Wolfenstein: The New Order, the Swedish studio has positioned Jump Space as a mix of first-person shooter combat, mission-based progression and spaceship dogfights. “Jump Space is a space-based sci-fi shooter in which players fight enemies both in FPS ground combat or in fast-paced dog fights in spaceships,” the developers said.
The game supports up to four-player co-op or solo play, with missions involving battles against hostile warships, alien environments and boarding encounters. Players will also need to maintain and repair their ships during combat, while upgrading equipment to survive increasingly difficult scenarios.
During its free demo, the title received a 93% positive rating on Steam, reflecting enthusiasm from early players. Keepsake Games said the launch version will be followed by additional content updates, including new story chapters, weapons, enemies and ships. Chapter 2, scheduled between launch and early 2026, will add an endless mode, offline play support and other enhancements.
Chapter 3, called Secrets of the Telmari, will introduce new bosses, areas, weapons and a first-person pilot view after early 2026. The studio said these expansions will be released in stages rather than as a single large update.
