Apple has discovered a “bug” in the iOS 15 operating system that causes conversations with the Siri virtual assistant to be allowed to be recorded.

Quoting from ZDNet and The Verge on Friday, both reported that the “bug” automatically turned on the “Improve Siri and Dictation” setting, which allows Apple to record, save and review conversations with Siri.

This bug affects a number of iPhones, Apple identified this abnormality after releasing iOS 15. After noticing the “bug”, Apple stopped reviewing the recordings they had accidentally received and deleted the information from the affected devices.

Apple released the iOS 15.2 update and fixed the option to turn on the “Improve Siri and Dictation” feature.

It is not known how many iPhone smartphones are affected by this bug. Apple has confirmed that it has stopped reviewing recordings and continues to delete data they receive from iOS 15.

iPhone users are advised to update the operating system to iOS 15.2 or later.
