Apple never explained what features were added to the firmware update for AirPods devices.

Notes that are often given for firmware updates on AirPods products are bug fixes and device quality improvements.

Here’s see the firmware code for the AirPods you’re using:

  1. Connect AirPods to the device.
  2. Enter the Bluetooth section.
  3. Next to the list of AirPods currently in use, press the i button.
  4. Scroll down and in the About section there is a note about Firmware.

How do I update the firmware on AirPods? You just need to connect your AirPods to an internet-connected iOS device. AirPods will automatically download the latest firmware documents and update. However, there are no indicators regarding the process of downloading and updating firmware on AirPods devices using this method.

Another way that the MakeMac team usually does is to use a Mac computer to update the AiPods or Beats firmware.

The trick is to connect AirPods or Beats to a Mac computer with a data cable like when charging. Make sure the Mac computer is connected to the internet and leave the AirPods connected via cable to the Mac for about 15–30 minutes. After that, please use it and check whether the latest Firmware has been installed.
