Romanian audio company Meze Audio has unveiled the Strada, a hand-crafted closed-back, over-ear headphone aimed at listeners seeking detailed sound combined with premium materials and a design intended for long-term ownership.
The Strada uses 50 mm dynamic drivers with a frequency response ranging from 5 hertz to 30 kilohertz, with total harmonic distortion rated below 0.1% at 1 kHz. With an impedance of 40 ohms and sensitivity of 111 dB SPL per milliwatt, the headphones are designed to work with lower-powered sources such as smartphones, according to the company.

Meze Audio said the driver design incorporates a torus around the cone that is coated in beryllium using a physical vapor deposition process to improve stiffness and clarity. “The torus around the cone driver is PVD-coated in beryllium for additional stiffness that helps improve the headphone’s transparency,” the original article said.
The drivers are mounted in a magnesium frame finished in layered metallic green paint and enclosed by Macassar ebony wood ear cups. The ear cups attach magnetically, allowing for easy removal and replacement, and feature memory foam pads covered in PU leather, with Alcantara lining inside to help reduce heat buildup.

Meze Audio said the Strada is fully serviceable, allowing users to disassemble the headphones and replace individual components over time. Weighing 330 grams and connecting via a 3.5 mm Y-cable, the Strada is priced at $799 and is available through the company’s website, with wider retail availability planned through its online store channels.
