Microsoft Expands Walkie Talkie Feature, Now Available to the Public

Microsoft is extending the walkie talkie feature to all users. The walkie talkie allows Microsoft Teams users to turn their smartphone or tablet into a walkie-talkie that works over cellular data or Wi-FI.

This feature was originally announced two years ago, as quoted from The Verge, Tuesday (18/1/2022).

Since then, the new walkie talkie was widely launched on Android September 2020, but now Microsoft says it’s available for Zebra mobile devices as well as iPhone and iPad.

The software maker’s collaboration with Zebra Technologies makes it work with dedicated push-to-talk buttons for fast and secure communication.

Most of these features are used by frontline workers, employees who deal with customers and carry out day-to-day operations within the company.
