Apple is now continuing to add team members to develop Apple‘s VR (Virtual Reality) headset technology as well as Apple’s AR (Augmented Reality) headset.
With various more effective task changes within the team, it shows that this project is still alive and well.
Reporting from Apple Insider, Apple has added members to its team to realize the project of VR and AR technology devices. (13/11/2022)
The company has targeted to produce at least three devices consisting of “Apple Reality Pro”, 2nd Generation VR Headset and smart glass called Apple Glasses.
The devices are projected to go into production in early 2023, but they may take more time to develop.
Therefore, Apple formed a special team to develop and manufacture these devices.
Apple is also rumored to have made changes to the internal teams of this project to make it run smoothly and successfully.
The change seems to have started by recruiting several key employees who had previously left Apple.
Among them is Dave Scott, a former self-driving car senior who has left Apple since 2021.
Of course, he was re-elected because of his background in medical devices, robotics industry and product delivery experience.
This means that it is very likely that he will work to take care of matters relating to the health of applications on prospective VR headsets.
There is also Yaniv Gur who has worked on several iWork applications and other built-in applications.
Gur will likely hold the mandate to head the development and production of the headset.
Apple has also in recent months made a work list for the Technology Development Group team in charge of overseeing the development of the headset.
The list includes content production such as software that supports visual effects on headsets.
In addition, another list is the stage of developing video services to display 3D content that can be displayed in VR.
One list even mentions the development of 3D MR (Mixed Reality) which can make users watch sports matches in real.
Even on the list, Apple said it would provide access to several applications and also Siri in the headset.
Although it is still unclear when VR headsets and similar technological devices will be launched next year.
However, of course this will be a big step for Apple in expanding in the realm of Virtual Reality.
