Apple has finally started introduce the first beta version of iOS 15.4 for developers. This update brings a number of new features, one of which is the option to unlock iPhone with FaceID while wearing a mask.

Of course, this feature has been the most awaited by users since the beginning of the pandemic because of their difficulty opening their cellphones when wearing masks.

Because, since the iPhone X generation, Apple has not provided its cellphone with the Touch ID option to unlock the device.

Now, Apple users are facilitated with the FaceID feature. In the FaceID unlock feature when wearing a mask, Apple uses sensors that can recognize the unique part around the eyes for the authentication process.

So, if users want to use the new feature, they have to re-scan their face for FaceID through the settings menu on the iPhone.

Next, click the ‘Use FaceID with a Mask' toggle to enable it. In addition, users can also activate ‘Add Glasses' to make FaceID more accurate when using masks and glasses.

However, it should be noted that this feature does not work for users who wear sunglasses.

Not only to unlock the iPhone, FaceID with a mask can also be used when authenticating Apple Pay payments to account logins.

The FaceID feature with masks currently only works for iPhone 12 and iPhone 13. Because this feature requires large resources.
