Over the past few months, there have been rumors that Nintendo will be launching a new model of the Switch console. Although it has not been confirmed, many people are speculating that the variant will likely be called the Switch Pro. But a new report suggests that the model might launch later this year.
The company has officially stated that they are not working on a Switch Pro model. However, a tweet from Pixelpad claims otherwise. For your information, the Switch has become a popular handheld game console in the market, but many users also want a more powerful version. So, the Pro model will likely be a great addition to the Switch series.
Welp. Tried to keep away from these types of rumours for so long, but way too much smoke now.
It looks like a new model could be announced towards the end of the year.
Apparently works with current carts, improved perf, retains branding & form factor.
No more info than that.

As per the leak, the Switch Pro will launch sometime later this year. The tipster adds that the new model will support current cartridges and even feature a form factor similar to that of the original Switch. However, the Pro model is rumored to offer better performance overall. Reporting from Gizmochina (12/7), Switch Pro is also expected to launch with a larger screen and support for 4K output.
The upcoming handheld console will also reportedly feature more RAM and a new Nvidia Tegra chipset. A recent leak claims that the Switch Pro could be announced in September 2022. Specifically, the source of this leak also accurately predicts the Splatoon 3 Switch OLED. Unfortunately, this is still an unconfirmed report, so there will likely be other changes or additions.
