OnePlus Launches OnePlus Watch 2R, a Budget-Friendly Variant of its Flagship Smartwatch

The OnePlus Watch 2R, running on WearOS, maintains the essence of its predecessor but introduces cost-saving measures. It features a lighter aluminum alloy chassis, replacing the stainless steel of the OnePlus Watch 2. Unlike the OnePlus Watch 2’s 2.5D sapphire crystal, the 2R model opts for 2D glass and a plastic bottom case, foregoing the glass fiber. Despite these changes, it retains an IP68 rating for dust and water resistance, though it lacks MIL-STD-810H certification.

Under the hood, the OnePlus Watch 2R boasts a 1.43-inch AMOLED screen and maintains essential features such as the Snapdragon W5 Gen 1 processor and BES 2700 efficiency chipset. It offers 2GB of RAM, 32GB of , and up to 100 hours of battery life, consistent with its predecessor. Connectivity options include NFC, dual-frequency GPS, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.0, and Bluetooth calling.

Health enthusiasts will appreciate its ability to track over 100 sports, with automatic recognition of six activities and seamless integration with the Strava app. The OHealth companion app has also undergone a redesign.

Available in Forest Green and Gunmetal Gray, the OnePlus Watch 2R is priced competitively at €279 in Europe, £249 in the UK, and $229.99 in the US.
