OnePlus has begun rolling out new OxygenOS updates for the OnePlus 13, OnePlus Nord 5 and Nord 4, introducing feature upgrades alongside the January 2026 Android security patch for supported devices, the company said.
The update for the OnePlus 13 adds a bypass charging function, allowing the phone to draw power directly from the charger rather than cycling it through the battery. The feature is aimed at reducing heat and battery wear during prolonged, high-load use such as gaming, navigation or live streaming. Other changes include improved photo editing support for full-resolution 50-megapixel images and smarter app sorting in the drawer.

As described in the update notes, the bypass charging feature allows users to “simultaneously use and charge your phone without harming the battery, while also reducing overheating.” The OnePlus 13 update also introduces additional file management options in Private Safe and system-level refinements.
The OnePlus Nord 5 and Nord 4 received OxygenOS 16-based updates focused on usability improvements rather than major new features. These include faster photo thumbnail loading, easier access to storage cleanup tools through the Smart Sidebar and refinements to home screen and app icon management.

OnePlus also improved the activation of the Circle to Search feature on the Nord models, allowing users to trigger visual search even when gesture navigation is enabled and the guide bar is hidden. Both devices received the January 2026 security patch as part of the update.
The rollout is currently limited to users in India running OxygenOS 16, which is based on Android 16, with OnePlus planning a broader international release in the coming weeks.
