Promptwatch, an Amsterdam-based startup focused on AI search optimization, has raised €6 million in a seed funding round to accelerate international expansion and product development after reaching €2 million in annual recurring revenue (ARR) within its first year.
Founded in 2025 by Gijs de Groot and Klaas Foppen, the company develops software that helps businesses monitor and improve how they appear in responses generated by AI assistants such as ChatGPT, Claude and Perplexity.
Funding Supports International Expansion
The funding round was led by Berlin-based Seed + Speed Ventures, with participation from Blum Ventures. Existing investor Arches Capital also increased its investment after backing Promptwatch’s €1.2 million pre-seed round in 2025.
Promptwatch said the new capital will support the opening of a New York office, expansion of its engineering and commercial teams, and continued development of its AI search optimization platform.
Focus on AI Search Visibility
The company operates in the emerging field of Generative Engine Optimization (GEO), which focuses on improving brand visibility in AI-generated responses rather than traditional search engine rankings.
Its platform tracks how AI models reference brands by analyzing prompts, responses, citations and content performance, helping organizations understand how they are represented across AI-powered search tools.
Promptwatch also plans to expand its “Agentic AI Search Optimization” capabilities, allowing AI agents to automatically monitor and optimize brand visibility with less manual intervention. Existing features include a Content Agent, automated workflows and support for the Model Context Protocol (MCP), enabling integration with AI platforms.
Growing Customer Base
Since launching its platform in April 2025, Promptwatch has grown to more than 1,800 customers, including brands such as Duolingo, ABN AMRO, WPP, Fireflies, Monks and iO Digital. The company said its platform processes more than 100 million AI interaction data points each day to support optimization recommendations.
With the latest funding, Promptwatch has raised approximately €7.2 million to date as it seeks to expand its position in the rapidly growing AI search optimization market.
